The Holy Quran Competition Updates

Dear Parents: 

Please remind the participating students that The Holy Quran competition will be held on May 15th16th17th, & 18th  as follows:

Grades 1, 2, &3:  Monday  May, 15th ( During the school hours ).

Grade 5 : Tuesday May, 16th ( During the school hours ).

Grade 4 : Wednesday May, 17th ( During the school hours ).

Grades 6, 7, 8 (MS) : Wednesday May, 17th ( After school at 3:00, Room : 30 ).

Grade 9 (HS) : Thursday May, 18th ( Last block, Room : 43 ).

Grades 10, &11 (HS) : Thursday May, 18th ( After school at 3:00, Room : 139 ).

Isra wal Miraj

 First of all, I would like to wish a Happy Isra Wal Miraj Holiday. Also, I would like to update you regarding our Islamic class. We finished our Unit on (Praying the Prophet's Way) and we are  currently studying:

  • Quran: Surat AL-Ala'
  •  SEERAH: PROPHET MUHAMMED IN MADINA
Also, during our classes this week we learned about  Our Beloved Prophet Mohammed Journey

Quran Competition



Dubai American Academy Quran Recitation Competition 2017


Dear Parents,

  Dubai American Academy Islamic Department is pleased to announce the first Quran Recitation Competition at whole school level.

As you know, Holy Quran is considered by Muslims to be a light that guides their hearts and behaviours, therefore reading and memorizing The Holy Quran is highly valued and fosters the highest of morals and characters.

The event aims to encourage students to memorize and recite chapters (Suar) from the Holy Quran in order to celebrate our students’ knowledge of Islamic Education.

Rules and Regulations: 

1. Competition will be based on individual performance.
 2. Any Islamic Student from each grade level can participate.
 3. Competitors should adhere to the required Suar (Chapters) of the Holy Quran as shown in the table below.
 4. Competitors are evaluated by correct memorization and recitation of The Holy Quran. 
5. A complete registration form should be sent to the below email address or you can fill up the form and hand it over to the class Islamic teacher. ( n.khalil_daa@gemsedu.com ) or a.abdelmageed_daa@gemsedu.com

Required Chapters  

Al-Suar: At-Tariq, Al-A’la, Ash-Shams, AtTin, Al-Zalzalah, Al-Humazah.

 Unit: Praying the Prophet's Way:

  • I Perform My Sunnah Prayers

Students will work on our Cornerstone assessment (project) where they are asked to apply what they have learned throughout the year to create the project.

I would  like to update you regarding our class we have been working on the Unit  "Muslim Life Style"  
 that included topics such as:
  • Sleeping Well +  Sleeping Duaa and Waking Up Duaa.
  • Sunan -ul- Fitra.
During this week we had a lesson on  Prophet Mohammed Birth and life to celebrate the  birthday of our beloved Prophet Mohammed.

Note: I would like to inform you that we will have a Unit assessment on the lesson next week.
